Re: Plasma: Bolt Ready Holes - Best Practices
the divot at the end of the cut will be caused by 1 of 2 things: 1) m05 is a non synchronous miscellaneous code (ie it requires the axis to slow down and stop before implementing the turn off torch signal)..... result = divot. 2) plasma has a kerf.... if you cut a circle at some point the start and ...

Re: Rotate work and table view
I think (never tried it) but you could change the axis in the post processor to spit the gcode out flipped 90 degrees.... so you could work on it as you view the table and get it to spit the gcode out 90 degrees rotated..... post your post processor and I'll edit it for you it you want... it may wor...

Re: Plasma THC preset voltage
But I'm not using LinuxCNC. What system are you using. I haven't noticed you specify that yet. I just gave you an example of a working post processor file that I know had a lot of other features built into it that most will not need. THC voltage is not really something that the CNC machine NEEDS to...

Re: Plasma THC preset voltage
what are you going to use the thc voltage for within the gcode? go and have a look at the CandCNC postprocessor as it stores the thc voltage (and uses it too), and other settings for the rs485 interface I keep the voltage settings in mine but I have always used them to set the voltage via miscellane...

Re: V carve, depth per pass
just a suggestion..... what about if you set up two different tools..... A roughing tool which is set as being say 2mm larger in diameter and 2mm longer than your actual tool. And then the "finishing" tool which is exactly the tool dimensions.... That way the v-carve operation will leave 2...

scanything: Linux?
Les
scanything for Linux (didn't know it worked on Linux)
what would I need to do to get it working on master (2.9?)
is there an idiots guide?
I've installed linuxcnc from iso and update from buildbot as I am using QtPlasmaC
thanks as always

Re: What bugs you the most in SheetCam?
Hans have you looked at the shape library, you can expand on it (and it would be great if you did + shared too)
each shape is within its own folder and has its own file + image.
have a look in:

Re: Peel milling,
I would rather a software be REALLY good at something, than a mixture of everything. Sheetcam is REALLY good with plasma and 2.5D, and its ability to edit the post processors easily to your needs (unlike fusion 360 in my experience). there are other features (like the ability to convert images to DX...
