Since your old g-code files still fire the torch, it's got to be related to Sheetcam. Are you still using the right post in Sheetcam? You might try comparing an old and a new g-code file to see what's different.

Re: Scanything for large objects
You learn something new every day! I had to fire up Sheetcam just now to check out the DXF post processor and sure enough, there it was. That's why I read thru all these posts, just to learn something new.

Laser Post Problem
Les, I'm having a problem with a Laser post that I just can't quite figure out. Basically every once in a while, the post puts in an "N0280 M67 E0 Q10 (DTHC OFF)" line. As near as I can tell, if there isn't a G01 at the beginning of the next line, then all the following lines are skipped u...

Re: "Please choose an existing file"
Motoguy,
I tried out what you are attempting to do on my system and it worked fine. My system is a Linux to Linux setup, so maybe windows itself is messing something up. (Not that Windows would ever mess anything up!)

Re: Plasma table
The 2 things I can think of: (assuming you have stepper motors) 1. When you turn on your controller, the motors should lock up. You can then go to each axis and try to move it by hand. You should not be able to move the axis except with a great amount of force. This should reveal any mechanical prob...

Re: "Please choose an existing file"
Motoguy, you don't suppose the network drive is not being mounted on the Linux computer? I only ask because when I run a program on my Linux computer and try to open a file on an external drive, I get an error similar to the error you are getting. If I click on the drive and mount it ahead of time, ...

Re: Plasma drill
Thanks Les, It is probably the desktop environment I am running or some such thing. Linux does seem to be a bit picky depending on what version you are running. I'll play with it a little more and see what I come up with. It's really no big deal now that I have found it. The only odd thing left is a...

Re: Plasma drill
Hey Les, I found the plugin, but not by using the right and left arrows on the screen to access it. I had to use the keyboard right and left arrows to access it. The screen arrows display only the far left 8 plugins, or the the far right 6 plugins out of a total of 16. The 2 in the middle are not di...

Re: Noob here - How to ignore edges of material?
When I do my plasma cutting, I just roughly square up the whole sheet on the table, then place my 0,0 point a 1/8" or so in from the corner and have at it, cutting the whole pattern. It seems like the inefficiency in your operation is the cutting the sheets on a shear before placing them on the...

Re: Nesting problems
Combining all the parts into one dxf drawing should be just a simple copy and paste operation in the original dxf. Shouldn't take more than a few seconds per paste.

Re: Post not opening in Torchmate
It sounds like your Torchmate 4 software does not like the g-code that the Sheetcam posts are putting out. I don't suppose you have a g-code file that the Torchmate 4 software does like that you can compare to the un-liked g code to see what the difference is? You should be able to open the g-code f...

Re: Plasma drill
I have attached a post that should do the piercing. You will have to use a different post for cutting. If you go to Options->plugin options->moreposts you can add extra post processor buttons so you don't need to go through Options->machine->post processor each time. Les, the moreposts plugin does ...

You don't say what type of machine you are using to cut with, but maybe your motor tuning is a little bit off.

Re: holes cutting
I no longer use Mach3, so I'm out of touch with the cutting rules. But if you head over to PlasmaSpider.com and do a search for cutting rules, you should find plenty of information on the subject. I seem to remember some discussion on here about cutting rules, so a search on here may prove helpful. ...
