I would suggest the MACHSUPPORT forum for the best results.

Can you post an example of what the garbled Gcode looks like, that is a new one for me as well

In CADConvert what you think is a closed group of points into a polyline. If it has an OPEN point in the group the line will NOT convert all the way and if you click on the line it will highlite ONLY the points that connected. leaving you with a visual of WHAT is not connected.

You could have used SheetCam to import the Tap file into SheetCam.

On import select Gcode File.

The Z3.000 is the go to point for the G28.1 . It will first go to Z3.00 then home to a switch .

OF course Les would have to allow Scam to READ the Z values in on import.

They are there most are just set to zero as most users are not aware that most cads are actually 3d in nature XYZ.

IF Scam read/saved the Z values as well some interesting things could be done with it.

Les would have to allow Scam to read the Z value. And if he did there are many things Scam could use that value for.

RE: Re: Depth from dxf and entry and exit options

HIYA LES this would be a very good idea to add system wide. Just about all Cads draw in XYZ. The Z info is there in the dxf IF the operator included Z elevations . It would automate the process and could save a lot of time. Put me in as a yes for this update. Just a thought, (;-) TP ---In sheetcam@y...

Well I posted the wrong thing , That was a DXF here is the actual toolpath Scam created. There is very little loss motion AND it cuts the boss area from the outside in, full depth and shallow cuts. Use a carbide Hawg mill and it will cut very fast. Programed entirely in Scam. (;-) TP ---In sheetcam@...
