Re: THC disable when crossing over existing kerf?

Don't forget about action points as well, they work great for those areas that don't fit into rules, easy enough to use. I have to agree with this. I've been running my table 2+ years, and was unaware of "action points" until recently. They were GREAT for situations that would fall outside of norma...

Re: "Please choose an existing file"

Motoguy, you don't suppose the network drive is not being mounted on the Linux computer? I only ask because when I run a program on my Linux computer and try to open a file on an external drive, I get an error similar to the error you are getting. If I click on the drive and mount it ahead of time,...

Re: "Please choose an existing file"

I rolled back from 6.1.5 to 6.1.49 (which was working before), and I get he same error. I did not wipe the existing 6.1.5 from the Linux box, rather I just downloaded and installed the 6.1.49 installer over the top. Still having the same issue. Sheetcam won't load the file from the shared drive (it'...

Re: Plasma drill

I'll see if I have a CommandCNC post and tweak it to just pierce. Les, I know (based on your PlasmaSpider post) that working on CandCNC posts isn't your favorite thing. LOL That being said, any chance you've been able to look at this, and see what needs to happen to make it work? Moses has been qui...

"Please choose an existing file"

I've started getting this error when trying to open a .job file from Sheetcam TNG (Windows 7) to Sheetcam (Linux) via a shared (network) folder. It's only started happening in the last 2 days. I've tried saving the .job via TNG and DEV (Windows), but get the same error message upon opening with Linu...

A ramp pierce moves the torch away from the slag pile as well as allowing piercing thicker than rated material. And you don't have to change consumables.
Tom states several times that using the ramp pierce in sheetcam messes with the DTHC activation/timing in CandCNC systems.

Re: Plasma drill

I can see where Tom is coming from. It looks like his system has a way of piercing that reduces the blowback problem, making pre-pierce largely unnecessary. Once again this is forcing the plasma to do things that make little sense. Pre-piercing holes does nothing to increase consumable life or impr...

Re: Plasma drill

Here is what he has to say about it: "I pointed out that the idea of pre-piercing is not a valid method of doing plasma cutting. The whole pierce process on thick metal is to prevent blowback that kills consumables. For pecking drill spots we have the Peck pierce option that can be used to change th...

Re: Plasma drill

Here is one that was put together (not by me, untested, no guarantee it'll work) before Tom came in and put a stop to it. He is very adamant that pre-piercing is not the "correct" way to be cutting. All I know, is using the pre-pierce post on Mach (with thick material) saved me a lot of headaches! I...

Re: Plasma drill

I've posted the Mach code in the CandCNC forum, but had no success getting the admin to modify it for CommandCNC use, nor in being told the differences in syntax (so I could modify it myself). I'm planning on digging in manually, and playing with it to see if I can slog my way through a conversion t...

Got Scananything up and running on my CommandCNC machine. Running, but not working. When I choose my dot marker, and start the calibration process, Scananything will start travelling towards the dot (if it's off-center). Kind of a jerky motion, but it's headed there. However, before it gets to the i...

I was getting it non-stop. Updated to .43, and I don't believe I've had the error since.
