MotoGuy,
I opened your .svg file with my version of CorelDraw, and that loop was in the .svg file you posted. Have you tried opening the .svg file with CorelDraw after you've exported it from CorelDraw ?

Steve
Yes, I re-opened both the .cdr and the .svg file, and it's clean in both of them.

what would need to happen to get true shape nesting?

I feel true shape nesting is all that Sheetcam really lacks. That"s the one area that the "process" guys (ie, CorelDraw to Sheetcam to LinuxCNC) can t compare with the all-in-one guys (PlasmaCam, Flashcut, etc). What would need to happenin order have it integrated into Sheetcam (vs the plug in band-...

Re: Drawing import tab guidelines

Here's an example. The "loop" is created in the lower right hand quadrant, immediately to the right of pierce point S20. I've attached a copy of the SVG file as well. Looking at the SVG file in Corel, there is no issue at that point. There are a couple of nodes close together (about .020"), but no o...

Drawing import tab guidelines

I've been having issues with Sheetcam creating loops/overlaps on imported drawings. I create drawings in Corel 2017, join curves, reduce nodes, make sure paths are closed, etc. The drawings look fine in Corel. Still, sometimes Sheetcam will create overlaps on corners, etc. I can play with some of th...

Min Cut Length for DTHC question

Does this rule only apply to the cut line/geometry as a whole, or can it switch on mid-cut? If I have a 40" circle, but I only want the DTHC to turn on after the .5" leadin, can I set "Min Cut Length for DTHC" to 2", so that it will go beyond the lead-in, and get into the geometry before activating ...

DXF post processor issue

I tried to use the DXF post processor for the first time, and I've having issues. I'm running the CandCNC Linux setup, their most recent revisions. Sheetcam is 6.1.50. I've pulled up an old job file, and changed the post to the DXF post. I've removed all offset, lead-ins, lead-outs, and overcuts. I ...

Layers are processed separately so you would need to put everything on one layer for SheetCam to make sure the leadins clear.
Well, that explains it! Thanks Les.

Re: Q regarding lead-in spacing from other cuts

These are nested in CorelDraw, and exported to Sheetcam as layers. The image above has 2 layers: 1) cars/flags (more important, cut them first), and then 2) circles (cut them after I've cleared layer 1 parts from the table). The layer "issue" in the original post was a product of Sheetcam assigning ...

Once you have the drawing loaded, set up a simple 'no offset' cut on it then use the dxf post processor to export it as a cleaned up dxf.
I never knew Sheetcam had a DXF post processor. That's pretty awesome. Learn something new every day!

Re: Q regarding lead-in spacing from other cuts

Could it be trying to chain cut the parts to avoid the extra pierce? I know there is a chain length setting, but I can't see the entire other part to see if that might be the case. No. Chain cutting was disabled (0 distance), and if you look closely at the cut path (may not be able to zoom in on th...

Q regarding lead-in spacing from other cuts

Is there way to get Sheetcam to place it's (automatically generated) lead-ins away from other cuts? I'm nesting parts quite tightly, and when I let Sheetcam place the leadins, it'll often place a lead in for part A -right- on the edge of part B, when there may be 1/2" or more of empty material locat...

Re: Scanything for large objects

That's a ton of nodes. That many nodes used to crash Corel for me, too. Can you place this traced file (with all the nodes) on a layer ("layer 1"), and then, on a NEW layer ("layer 2"), manually trace over the top of layer 1? Or, does Inkscape have a "smoothing" tool (not function, but a tool) that ...

I think it would depend on the "Leadins on open paths" setting.
Well, that's embarrassing. I never even noticed that checkbox before!
