caper150 Has this one died a death or are you still looking for help? (not get much foot traffic in this forum) If you're after the help, besides the Hypertherm, and the G540, what other gear do you have? Do you have torch height control? (hence the CandCNC question by Steve) Have you got a photo of...

Les, thanks very much for the insight, it's great I now understand a little more. Nope, wouldn't change a thing, but it now explains why the onmove() functions look the way they do with the z axis motion. For me it's a hobby, and I'm happy to tinker and learn post-processors, lua, m3, m4 etc Thanks ...

Will the tool match the spline profile?

So all you are doing is a series of cuts on one axis, and indexing an a axis by a number of steps, and then maybe a finishing cut along the same lines?

Sure you could write a post processor for that

Postprocessor questions - sequence of events

Hello, I've been having a look at a few post processors, and was wondering with regards to plasma and THC what the sequence of function calls was likely to be by sheetcam as it seems some post processors seem to call some events differently and hence the events are within different functions. Is the...

Which post processor are you using?

If you use one with mach3 THC then they have the option for g28.1 or g31 touch off probing built in.

Otherwise you can add it to the post processor by editing it, under pendown() I think it is.

What post processor are you using, and what tool number have you created for your plasma, can you take some screenshots of your sheetcam tool settings (I use greenshot to take screenshots)

Sorry, I know zero about Linux, other than I've tried many times to use it and always struggle with the syntax and end up back on windows.

Someone else running Linux + sheetcam may be able to comment, or Les may chip in.

Not got a clue, but how about providing some specs for your PC, version of windows, version of sheetcam (have you tried the stable lockdown version)

Have you cleaned out temp files and folders using something like ccleaner?

Toes, You have a few things at work here.... 1) it sounds like you have the THC up/down checkbox enabled even when not in THC mode on the mach3 >>>ports and pins>>mill options tab 2) it also sounds like you do not have a very long delay set on the THC... Hence increase the delay. 3) I presume that i...

Dave, (not that I have a solution to your problem, but I thought I'd ask) how thick are you cutting? what are you cutting? how fast are you cutting it? Instead of stopping in the corner, have you thought about changing the feedrate to ~ 60% with a short lead in and out.... kind of what you do for ho...

err... never mind.... I was being a muppet!

I had sheetcam already running, had deleted the plugin and added in the new one, and loaded it.... think it was just loading whatever was previously there ( I should have restarted sheetcam after replacing the plugin )

All fixed and correct....

Sorry

jet tool >> plasma - voltage text box please

Is there a way to add a text box for voltage input to be stored with the plasma tool settings, that way it could be used in the post processor and possibly be sent directly to my THC it would require a ToolVoltage function to also be added I guess to the post processor so we can then use it there.
