This can extremely speed up jobs with lots of milled holes and pockets.
For me this would be a real killer feature
Thank you in advance for your effort!
Cheers,
Markus

Re: V carve, depth per pass
I have another Idea - not sure if it makes sense :) If a checkbox with "don't lift" is ticked, then the tool path changes in that way, that the tool goes back to it's starting point inside the pocket first. Similiar like it goes for milling = it passes around islands in case they exist. An...

Re: V carve, depth per pass
ok, that's of course a reason. But what about adding this with a "use at own risk"-checkbox? I would be really useful when milling a lot of holes... In some of my jobs it's around 500 per job... I can remove this lift manually from gcode, but need to redo this after each e.g. setting chang...

Re: V carve, depth per pass
Hello Les, I just installed the current DEv release and gave it a try - this looks great in the simulation. I'll give it a try on a piece of wood later the day. Just wonderful - thank you very much! I have another question please: I have a mill job with lot of pockets with multiple passes to final d...

Re: V carve, depth per pass
Looking at the change log of 7.1.15, I assume I need to wait for the next release?

Re: V carve, depth per pass
To be honest... I did not think about that Sheetcam is 2 1/2D only when asking. The idea was to mill pens, but not "simply round" but with e.g. patterns - but this would require a 3D CAM and a Step File, I assume.

Re: V carve, depth per pass
Hello Les,
another question: is it planned to add a 4th A-Axis to Sheetcam in future? Or a wrapper Plugin?
Cheers,
Markus

Re: V carve, depth per pass
Hello Les,
it would be great if you can put this on the list - or may be you already have?
Cheers,
Markus

Re: V carve, depth per pass
hmm... but that way, I still need to make sure that the letters are not to massive as then even the smaller bit will go too deep into the material in one step. It is a workaround, but not a solid solution for production :( I already wrote: "I can work around it a bit by having multiple V-Care T...

Re: V carve, depth per pass
Hello Les, I just udpated to the latest 7.0.10 and had the hope that this is now fixed - but looking at the simulation it does not look like :( Having a bigger v-Carve bit (90°, D=40mm) and larger text, it partly goes way to deep into the material in one cut. A parameter for Offset would also be coo...
