Re: Bug? Multi-pass open paths not cutting beyond the first pass
The 'real' job file is huge... several dozen operations. Here's a slimmed-down example which *should* exhibit the problem. I can't actually test that this example works because I've reverted to 6.1.45 for now. Two test operations: one with ramp. One without. Results should look similar to the images...

Bug? Multi-pass open paths not cutting beyond the first pass
When cutting paths with zero ramp in multiple passes, all open paths are cut incorrectly: the cutter plunges to the first-pass depth, makes the cut, then plunges to the second (etc) cut depth, then lifts, then goes to the next path. Only the first pass of each path is actually cut. The remainder are...

Re: What bugs you the most in SheetCam?
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but SheetCAM is asking me to report a bug. Appears to be related to "Occasional incorrect tool paths when ramping an open contour". And the reflected-blocks thing seems to be still there. I've upgraded to 6.9.15 and rebooted Windows for good measure. &quo...

Reckon the fix might be in the next release, too? Pretty please?

Re: What bugs you the most in SheetCam?
Thanks Les. It's not the only issue I get with DXFs and TurboCAD. But it is the one that's nearly impossible to work around. Scaling is another 'feature'... so many programs (including TC) will load a DXF and not recognise it as metric. Resulting in houses that are five thousand inches tall, or litt...

Re: What bugs you the most in SheetCam?
Zipped here:
The .dxf
TurboCad's DXF settings (tho' I've tried all DXF options and the problem stays the same)
How it looks in TurboCAD
How it looks imported into SheetCAM
The .job
Have fun!
Cheers,
Ian.

Re: What bugs you the most in SheetCam?
Bug: any block in a DXF which is mirrored, gets mis-positioned by sheetcam. So any mirrored block in my drawings must be exploded before I can import the dxf into sheetcam. (My CAD implements 2D mirroring by rotating the block 180 about Y and scaling it minus-1* in Z.) Feature request please: to gro...

Re: Error in SheetCAM slot operation?
Thanks
You're right - any odd number of cuts works OK because odd-numbered cuts always have their ramp cleared. (DOC increases at the end of the cut, though, due to the unintended ramp material.)
Alternative workaround: turn off reverse-open-cuts/
Cheers,
Ian.

Error in SheetCAM slot operation?
This is either a bug in SheetCAM, or I'm doing something silly. 3D CNC operation to slot (open path with no offset) 3.5mm deep in two passes. Each pass is ramped and the ramp is shorter than the length of the slot. "Reverse open paths" is on. The first ramp (at 2mm deep) is backed-up and c...
