Re: Odd behaviour on first job loading

Fixed the tools - uncheck "Automatically generate name" in the tool table and re-import This threw me once too. It seems odd to have an obscure setting that changes the names of all of your already created tools when you open the toolset. I get generating a name for a new tool automatically, but ha...

Re: PlasmaRotary Mach3 post problems?

I was going to say it looks like maybe your rotary axis got changed from linear to angular somehow. I guess that's kind of what happened. Glad you figured it out.

Re: About Post processor: MP1000-THC.scpost

I think it's because you have the feedRate set to 1 on line 60. I don't think you are getting a feedrate setting from your tool. What happened to lines 70-90?

I had a similar reaction when I discovered parts.

Re: Some feature requests for optimizing workflow

I've asked a couple of times about tying the leads to the tool vs the operation, since the lead lengths are usually tied to thickness. Les said he was considering it a while back, but I haven't heard any more about it for a while. Must be on the back burner.

Re: Some feature requests for optimizing workflow

You can copy the operation from one part and paste it into the different parts. Might make your process a little faster. You can copy multiple operations at once. I just recently discovered saving parts. You can set up a part with the drawing, operation with the desired tool and then save it as a .p...

Re: Nesting mode

Can it be made to work if one part is selected and disabled if multiple parts are selected?

Reminder for Les

It's been a couple months so I thought I would post a reminder. Wondering if this is still on the schedule. https://forum.sheetcam.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4610#p25589 I would like the leads to be in the tools as well so when you change the tool to one for a given material the leads change accordingl...

Re: Sheetcam tools

You have to save the default toolset after you're done. It's on the bottom of the file menu.

feedRate & plungeRate in OnMove sub

Playing with a post tonight, and I noticed that the feedRate value mirrored the plungeRate value in the onMove sub during the pierce. I'm using a ramp pierce, so I'm wondering if that might be why. I have the values in the tool set differently, and the correct values appear at other places in the gc...

Re: modify tool of a tap

Okay. Not a big deal, just thought it might be handy to be able to get a drawing from the tap file. I would think SheetCam could look for the G90 or G91 in the code and compensate.

Re: modify tool of a tap

I tried loading a tap file, but it didn't work as expected. I loaded it as a drawing, since that was the only place I could find the tap extension. I left the default options in the window that popped up, and also tried a few different number formats without success. Here's what SheetCam loads and h...

Re: help with post material detection

It looks like the brown goes to a 12-24v DC power supply positive. The blue goes to the negative of the power supply. The black wire goes to the input. It should send the positive voltage to the input when the sensor is touching metal. I'm not familiar with using a proximity sensor like this for hei...

Re: help with post material detection

It might help if you post more info about your controller and what ohmic system you have. One side of the ohmic sense connection goes to the torch shield and the other goes to the material. You will need to assign the probe input in mach3 to where your ohmic is connected. Then the G31 code will lowe...
