Re: modify tool of a tap

I tried loading a tap file, but it didn't work as expected. I loaded it as a drawing, since that was the only place I could find the tap extension. I left the default options in the window that popped up, and also tried a few different number formats without success. Here's what SheetCam loads and h...

Re: help with post material detection

It looks like the brown goes to a 12-24v DC power supply positive. The blue goes to the negative of the power supply. The black wire goes to the input. It should send the positive voltage to the input when the sensor is touching metal. I'm not familiar with using a proximity sensor like this for hei...

Re: help with post material detection

It might help if you post more info about your controller and what ohmic system you have. One side of the ohmic sense connection goes to the torch shield and the other goes to the material. You will need to assign the probe input in mach3 to where your ohmic is connected. Then the G31 code will lowe...

You can import a tap file back into SheetCam but all you get is the geometry. You won't get any of the cut settings and the cut order will probably be wrong.
Very interesting. This could come in handy.

Re: help with post material detection

I'm not sure I understand your question, but I don't think the proma thc has the ability to sense the material to set your starting z height. It is only able to sense the voltage of the arc while cutting and adjust the z height at that point. To sense the starting z height you need an ihs system suc...

Re: Post processor "how to" problem.

He said he just wants to remove one of the pierce height moves. He wants to keep the one after the reference.

Re: Post processor "how to" problem.

I stepped through the post with your job file, and it appears that SheetCam is calling OnRapid twice at the beginning. The first time the Z value is unknown, so that's why there is an X & Y move first. Then the next time through the Z has a value so it is outputted. It does appear to be something in...

Re: No Title

I would like the leads to be in the tools as well so when you change the tool to one for a given material the leads change accordingly. Maybe it's only plasma where the leads correspond to the material thickness, otherwise it would seem to make sense.

Re: Altura inicial de corte por plasma para espesores gruesos

See if this does what you are wanting. Mach3 flame with THC - G31.scpost Go into SheetCam and click Help click Open settings folder open the folder named posts Put the file in this folder When you go to Options/Machine/post processor Selected the Mach3 flame with THC - G31 (edited) post The tool set...

Re: Altura inicial de corte por plasma para espesores gruesos

That is why the pierce height is higher than the cut height. If you raise the pierce height too much it won't pierce the material.
You can use a ramp pierce to move the torch horizontally away from the splash while it is piercing. I have good luck with this on thicker material.

Re: Trying to use sheetcam with an older ESAB Sabre 2000

If you have a working gcode file that shows the proper format for your machine, you can make the post do almost anything. I'm not familiar with esab machines, so I wouldn't be much help without an example.
