How do I set up a tool change operation?

And further down the rabbit hole I go! Happily, of course. The next operation I need to master is setting up a tool change. Can someone shed light on this topic? Does the G-Code automatically set up a window of time for me to swap the bit, or do I set it? I have no idea on where to start - please us...

Awesome!

This is an interesting application. Use a single straight line for the keyhole. Set up a no offset cut operation. Set the depth per pass to a tiny bit less than the cut depth. This forces the machine to take two passes even though they are at near enough the same depth. Normally SheetCam will plung...

The right code for a Keyhole bit - CNC Router & Sheetcam

Greetings! I'm looking into using a keyhole router bit in some wall panels I have been fine-tuning. This will allow me to mount the panels flush against the wall. So here's the issue. The keyhole bit needs to drop into my material and cut a straight line down about one inch...then it needs to go UP ...

Thank you ....

I looked at your drawing. The issue is that your curves are not circular arcs. G-code can only understand lines and circular arcs so SheetCam has to break these curves up into something g-code can handle. First SheetCam breaks the curves into thousands of tiny line segments then it tries to find ar...

Arc Tolerance Issues

Greetings! I believe I am having an arc tolerance issue which is creating a problem with my final cut. I will do my best to explain. I'm using Adobe Illustrator to create a perfect tesselation. A tesselation (if you don't know already) is a shape that can fit into itself infinitely - so the angles o...

Is this nested in SheetCam or CAD? If it is nested in SheetCam you need to make sure each part is copied, not duplicated. You can move start points by using start point mode (mode->edit start points). Make sure the part you want to change is selected and the correct operation is selected. Now you c...

Setting the exact location of the LEAD IN

Greetings forum! I'm currently cutting 1 panel that has been repeated and nested on a 2ft x 4ft piece of MDF. It's an outside offset cut. Right now it's leading in on the same location on each panel....but I want to change it to start at one of the corners....on each panel. Can I change this locatio...

Not quite

Do you mean you want the circle to come out smaller than you drew it? If so use an inside offset cut operation then use finish allowance to offset the circle inwards. Thanks for your response, Les. No, I want the circle to be the same size. However, I want to do an inside offset cut that doesn't go...

Creating Inside Offsets in Sheetcam

Hello!! Happy to find a board that is Sheetcam related! Hopefully you guys can help. I'm new to all of this CNC stuff. I have a design I created in Adobe Illustrator. I can successfully import the .dxf into Sheetcam. However, in order to "fill in" the inside lines and just cut 1/8in into m...
