Re: Change order of x/y pos and z- at start of prog

I tried it, but the mill moves to that height ALWAYS. It's horrible during milling small contours or open paths.

Change order of x/y pos and z- at start of prog

Hello,

i'm a milling newbie and don't know how to change the order of the x/y positioning and the positioning of z at the start of program.
At the moment the mill dives to +2mm and then it rushes to the x/y position.
For safety i want at first the x/y pos. and then the z +2mm.
How can i handle that?

Re: How to mill a calotte?

It's a little bit hard, but it works. The needed contour can be routed by sheetcam. Change the X/Y coordinates of the path to X/Z with an editor. Switch to a polar coordinate system. Rotate the path with some degrees around the zero point. I try to work with variables, because i have to change the c...

Re: Contour on open path with G02 / G03

Yes, G41/G42 would explain it better. Sometimes i have a path only with two lines in a defined angle. Then i can write the program for myself. But if there is a radius, it takes some time. The best way would be, to import the path via dxf to SheetCAM and to define start and endpoint. But how? ------...

Contour on open path with G02 / G03

Hello, i try to mill a contour at the end of aluminium profiles. The contour is an open path with different curves. Is there a possibility to define start and endpoints where the machine can switch to radius compensation (G02/G03)? At the moment i have to draw a pocket with plunge rate, etc.. But th...

How to mill a calotte?

Hello,

i'm looking for a possibility to mill a pocket, not with a flat, but with a spherical bottom. Are there any options, with parameters or so?
-------
I think e have to write an additional program manually with variables to do that in Mach3.

Re: Negative lead out

You are right!
After an installation on a new PC in German, i switched back to english. Then it's better to understand.

Negative lead out

Hello,
after an update, it's not possible to enter a negative "lead out" to prevent the plasma torch to cut same place twice.
In former times it was possible to insert " - 1,2 " mm. Now the smallest value is " 0 ".
What can i do?

Missing tool table in LinuxCNC

Hello,
my LinuxCNC reports an error, because there is no tooltable in the gcode.
How can i solve that problem? (i'm a newbie)
Is there a button in Scam for including the tooltable?
Should i insert something in the EMC postprocessor?

No, it works but the pit is always there. It seems to be a side effect of the overcut. The current uses the remaining (grounded) material and produces a pit during the plasma jet collapses.
If there is no closed contur (a line) it works perfect.

Plasma lead out

Hello, i have a problem with lead out (plasma) if i start a contour i use lead in arc and it works pretty good. But if the contour is finished the plasma jet produces a small pit at the start point, because the jet workes tice on the start and end point. That looks ugly. My question is: is it possib...
