Re: Cutmaster 60i
I'd suggest that you ask on plasmaspider forum as it covers the broad application of "plasma" in all shapes and forms where as this is for "sheetcam" specifically.

Re: Loop inner corners
Interesting to think about the math of the inner corner dogbone and an optimum solution to allow for the plasma tail on thick material to catch up + the kerf diameter of the plasma jet that you are trying to compensate for: http://fablab.ruc.dk/more-elegant-cnc-dogbones/ Bit more of a description on...

Re: Arc instead of corner
I disagree, but YMMV maybe your planner is poor in linuxcnc as I cannot see how it can get a relationship such as radius = velocity ^2 / acceleration wrong or have some sort of inaccuracy that you consider to be a poor predictor of arc radius. its physics! Happy to be educated though with something ...

Re: Arc instead of corner
eg. You can't cut a 1cm square at 10 metres per second. ..... Actually you can...... IF your acceleration is high enough..... Re: Arc instead of corner
G64 parameters are normally default set in the motion controller software (mach3, mach4 and uccnc) Plasma by default should run in g64..... Exact stop will just lead to a mess on the junctions between each and every linear and arc move. Yes you can customise G64 in every file...... If you want to ch...

Re: Arc instead of corner
Your acceleration setting is too low for your feedrate in your CNC controller.

Re: Scanything calibration
When I had this problem the axis was reversed or the camera was oriented wrong. Suggest a double or triple check ++z is moving to the right and ++y is moving up, away from the operator and all jog in the right direction with numbers increasing, and the camera orientated correctly (get a bit of paper...

What you are looking for is called "puddle jump"
Some THCs have a built in setting for it.
It is possible to add the control via post processor and custom variables which is what I presume the edited post processor does.

Re: Rule set hesitation
That will be a common thing. It will be common to very many motion controllers unless they are able to issue commands (m / miscellaneous codes) in sync with motion. It's not a sheet am issue, you need to study your motion controller m and g codes and try to establish what functions run in sync with ...

Re: Sheetcam operations selection
If you want to add a custom variable to the screenset
just use the "post.DefineCustomToolParam" function
eg:
just use the "post.DefineCustomToolParam" function
eg:
Code: Select all
post.DefineCustomToolParam("PlasmaTool", "Preset volts", "presetVolts", sc.unit0DECPLACE, 49, 0, 200)

Re: Sheetcam operations selection
If you go to Options >> Job Options, "Thickness of Material" is listed as the 4th text box up from the bottom. For post processors the variable is "materialHeight" normally you don't set the material thickness by tool but more by job especially if you are running a mill or router...

Re: Drill Points
I don't use mach3 any more, however it sounds like mach is waiting for the arcok signal and that may be causing your problem. I think it's the spindle tab, if you turn off the thc and then use the g04 pxxxx it will be a consistent time period
