I'm hiring.

Well sort of. I'm looking for someone to take over customer support for SheetCam. Mostly this is answering questions about licensing, replacing lost licenses etc with some more technical questions about using SheetCam. Some experience with writing posts would be nice but not essential. It's usually ...

Re: Sheetcam will not open after trying to update to newest version.

What version of Linux are you using? If you don't know, could you start a terminal and enter:

Code: Select all

uname -a
If you let me know what that command say I can try to work out what version of SheetCam you have from there.

Does the page setup window allow you to select a more standard page size?

Re: Easy Scribe as "Router"

A few people have done this for artistic work. It will need some post processor tweaks. What post processor are you using?

Re: Dwell not always working in same file

Some plasma cutters take varying amounts of time to start the arc. With these the only way to get a truly reliable pierce is to use a THC system with arc detection. That way it waits for the arc before starting cutting. A less than ideal workaround is to increase your pierce delay quite a bit. This ...

Re: Job Report default printer

Sorry, I missunderstood. When you hit the print button in print preview it should ask you what printer you want to use.

Re: HSMAdvisor Integration?

HiAndy,

Sorry for the late reply. I'm afraid HSM advisor isn't on my to-do list at the moment. I remember starting on an integration many years ago. I can't remember exactly why but there was an issue with doing so. Having said that, HSM advisor has probably changed a lot in the mean time.

Re: Drag Knife Pluggin

I'm wondering how I can create a post for my machine that would work with my plasma table. I'm pretty new to CNC, being only 17, so I appreciate your help. What CNC controller does your machine use? I'm not exactly sure if I understand what you mean by the offset amount. I thought it was the measur...

Re: Issue with error messages on Linux

Linux is a nightmare to support. Every new release breaks something.
Theer is a package called Wine that allows you to run Windows executables on Linux. You may have a better experience using the Windows version with Wine.

Re: Drag Knife Pluggin

I see a number of issues. None of the plasma posts are set up for drag knife. You need to use a milling/routing post. The 'Offset amount' in your cut operation is to adjust the overall size of your part. Normally I'd recommend setting it to 0 unless you are doing something like inlay work where you ...

Re: Rules not working as expected

1. Arc has diameter 20mm, so 40% feedrate should be applied, but it is 70% (the second half of hole has correct 40% feedrate) Hmm, that's an odd one. It does look like something strange is going on in SheetCam. It is triggering the 40% override then the 70% override, which is the wrong way around. ...
