Re: Internal Error Message

I guess where i was going with this is the job should, ideally in my mind and for our laser especially, have a material selection like 11ga Carbon Steel or 14ga Stainless Steel that holds all of the material specific parameters and then the operation would have the tools like etch tool, marking too...

Re: Internal Error Message

4) contour mode -> select contours on duplicate 2 -> right click -> move to part -> original part Ah, if you click on a contour on a duplicate you can't select it, but drag-select will let you when it shouldn't. Duplicates don't have any geometry of their own. They just point to the parent part's g...

Re: Internal Error Message

I just re-read your original post. I originally thought this was a different issue but you tried to copy contours from a duplicate to the base part? First of all, why? Second it should not have let you! I just tried copying contours from a duplicate and all of the menu options are greyed out, which ...

Re: Internal Error Message

I think a fix for that is in the next release. If you send me that zip file I'll check. I've been taking a little time off from working on SheetCam. I needed a break. The last major release got a bit stressful.

Re: entityClosed nd OnNewEntity explanation

entityClosed is updated just before OnNewEntity is run. If I remember correctly it is called before OnPenDown. You can check using the post editor/debugger. Create a OnNewEntity function and set a breakpoint on it (Click on the grey bar on the left where you want to set a breakpoint). Set a breakpoi...

Re: Rigid tapping issue

Sim is working but as you only have one tapped hole you don't see much. Try the G-code on your machine.

Re: Rigid tapping issue

The job looks fine. I suspect your post doesn't have the code for rigid tapping. Try the 'Centroid Mill V2' post. If that doesn't work, send me a copy of your Centroid M400 post and a sample of tapping code generated by the Centroid Intercon CAM. I'll modify the post to suit.

Re: Rigid tapping issue

Are you getting a warning that no holes were found? If so, check your min hole size and max hole size. These have to be either side of the tapping marker circle diameter.

What post processor are you using?

Re: Rotary plugin torch height

I think I made a mistake by making my ref 0 for z at the top. Does that make sense? Yes, for rotary cutting, Z0 is the center line of the tube. If you have a touch-off switch and the post is configured correctly (see below) this should be automatic. Should I have the limit/home be at the top of z o...

Re: no layer lines being read on any file

Do you see the drawing outlines in the graphic display? If so you probably just need to select the appropritae layer. In your cut operation use the 'Layer' dropdown to select the layer you want to cut.

Re: Peel milling,

I see what you mean now. Using multiple outside offsets tends to create some pretty inefficient tool paths in many cases. I'll need to think on this one.

Re: Peel milling,

Even a macro function that automatically creates a whole bunch of copies of the same contour milling operation but with reduced "Finish Allowances" for each copy would be a nice start.
That's effectively what the spiral pocket does. It just does a series of offsets then joins them together.

Re: Options of Jet Drill Operation

That's odd. It's displaying the drill tool parameters instead of the jet tool parameters. I'll look into it.

Re: Post Custom Boolean Option

I'll look into it. Making it display true/false means some changes to the way custom values are handled, which may turn into a bit of a rabbit hole.
