Re: Drag Knife Features

You are probably using teh wrong post processor. Try the 'Mach3' post processor instead.

Re: TNG 6.1.74 plugin

AARGH! I can't believe how that keeps creeping back in. If you install the stable version of SheetCam the plugin will work again. You can have both stable and dev on your computer at the same time.

Re: New Feature Suggestions - Scale and DXF Text

The original SheetCam had a scale option but it really messed with offsetting so I removed it. I have had quite a few requests for scaling so I may re introduce it. Text in dxf files is a screaming nightmare. No two cad packages do it the same way. Some cad packages can't even keep text looking righ...

Re: Selecting a suitable post processor

Here are a couple of posts that may work for you. To install a post, save the attachment to any convenient folder on your computer then run SheetCam and go to Options->machine->post processor. Click on the 'Import post' button. Using the box that appears, navigate to your post and open it. Go back t...

Re: Selectable leads for small features.

Path rules are applied after the tool paths are generated. Leadins are generated at the same time as the rest of the tool paths so it would not be easy to add rules for this. However SheetCam should automatically shrink leadins and leadouts if there is not enough room. If the space is too small it w...

Re: Surprising Edit Start Point behavior

Ah, I see what you mean. Yes, this is expected behaviour even if it isn't very intuitive. Open contours have no inside or outside so SheetCam doesn't really know which side you want to cut. Instead it always cuts to the right of the start point. If you imagine you are stood on the start point lookin...

Re: Surprising Edit Start Point behavior

Could you post a job file (File->save job) with the job set up. Ideally if you could set it up so there is just the troublesome outline active that would help me figure out what is going on.

Re: Loop inner corners

If you look at the tool path slight errors in the positioning of the arcs on the outline mean that the tool paths don't form perfect tangential arcs. You are ending up with corners so SheetCam adds the overcut. You should be able to dial that out by increasing the angle threshold.

Re: Not Creating G Code

Looking at it, I think you may have a problem with your license. Go to Help->about. You should see your license ID. If you send me an email or PM with that ID I'll check it.

Re: Not Creating G Code

Set up a job ready to cut then save it (File->save job). If you post that file here or email it to me I'll take a look and see if I can spot what's wrong.

It looks like you already have SheetCam TNG. When you open SheetCam does the title bar on the main window say "SheetCam" or "SheetCam TNG"?

Re: Post Process issue for Openbuilds grbl

Are you using touch-off probing? The preview has no way of knowing the probe trip point so it assumes that the probe has tripped at the furthest end of the specified probe distancel. This will result in the display you see. It should cut correctly.

Have you set up any cut operations?
