Re: Crash using layer tool

Thanks. It affects both stable and dev. I'll have this fixed in the next releases.

Re: Crash using layer tool

Hmm, I can't replicate this one here. Is this Windows or Linux?
Could you describe step by step what you need to do to replicate the fault.

Re: Job Report variables

Turn on Help->Debug log then run a report. You will see all of the generated variables in the log.

Re: Holding Tab icon grayed out

That will happen if your operation cannot use tabs. For instance a drill operation cannot use tabs.

Re: modify tool of a tap

You can import a tap file back into SheetCam but all you get is the geometry. You won't get any of the cut settings and the cut order will probably be wrong.

Re: modify tool of a tap

In the future I would recommend that for complicated jobs you save the job (File->save job). Job files contain your drawings, tools and operations so you can quickly make any changes. However it is too late for that in this case so you need to work with what you have. First of all what do you need t...

Re: Path rule bug (on inside corners) ???

I could add a 'exclude corner arcs' check box. That way older rule sets would still behave the same way as they always did until you select that check box.

Re: Path rule bug (on inside corners) ???

So an inside corner is any corner less than 180 degrees. This causes a sharp change in direction of the tool. On the contrary an outside corner is any angle greater than 180 degrees and therefore the tool rolls around the corner. And therefore on an "inside offset" cut (as my drawing is), we can ha...

Re: Error message on startup

That looks like a controller error message. What controller are you using? It sounds like you need to reference the machine before starting a cut.

Re: Sheetcam and arc leadin

I can't see anything obviously wrong. I suspect it is an issue with your machine. Is it the first cut that causes problems? Some machines take longer to fire the arc if they have not been cutting for a little while. By the way I would recommend that you don't draw the lead ins manually. Let SheetCam...

Re: Path rule bug (on inside corners) ???

In this case 'inside' and 'outside' are probably a little confusing. An outside corner is any corner where the cutter has to roll around the outside of a corner. An inside corner is where the cutter is going into a corner and has to make a sudden change of direction. In your example all of the insid...

Re: Saving / backing up Path Rules

Rules are saved with the job file. Save a job then load it into the new copy of SheetCam. That will also copy your tools. Another option is to copy the settings file. Go to Help->open settings folder. Copy the ini file and tools to a USB drive. On the new computer run SheetCam and go to Help->open s...

Re: Loop inner corners

SheetCam already has automatic dogbones for milling/routing (Cut path tab, overcut corners) but I never implemented it for plasma as I expected problems like mancavedweller described. Internal loops would not be a problem. The current code specifically ignores inside corners so I can make that optio...
