Re: Not getting THC ON/OFF option in path rules

Could you post a copy of the g-code here or send me a copy. I'll take a look and see if I can spot anything.

Re: Arraying multiple parts

That 1/16th of an inch shows your machine is losing position. Check for any mechanical issues such as binding, backlash or pulleys slipping on their shafts. Are you using steppers? Steppers are prone to randomly losing position if you run them close to their limits. Try reducing the acceleration and...

Re: Path Rules "On Arcs"

Try something like this: In OnNewOperation:

Code: Select all

curFeed = feedRate
In OnSetFeed():

Code: Select all

   post.ModalNumber(" VA14=VA1*", feedRate / curFeed, "0.##")
   post.Eol()

Re: Path Rule "On lead in"

Does it allow you to define a kerf width of 0 on the machine? That way any offsets it applies will have no effect.

Re: Circle Error - Help!

That is a mechanical problem on your machine. It looks like you have backlash in one axis.

Re: Path Rule "On lead in"

SheetCam generates compensated tool paths. It does the offsetting rather than relying on the control to do the offsetting. It looks like you are trying to make your control do the offsetting.

Re: Plasma Tool Offsets

OnOffsetLeft and OnOffsetRight are pretty much untested. They are part of the G41/G42 support that I started some time back. I ran into a number of hurdles with that support so it never ended up in SheetCam.

Re: Path Rules "On Arcs"

That's a slightly unusual use case. Normally the snippet would do something like turn off THC. If you have multiple 'on arc' rules using the same snippet they are combined into one. The lowest feed rate would be the one that is used. In your case you are trying to use a bunch of different snippets t...

Re: Arraying multiple parts

Use the measure tool in SheetCam to check your drawing is correct. Right-click and select 'Measure'. Now click on a point of interest in your drawing. It will now show you the distnce from that point to the mouse cursor. If the drawing dimensions are correct your machine is probably losing position....

Re: DXF import mirror error

It looks like something odd with the dxf. I loaded it into a couple of different cad packages and they show the drawing as mirrored.

Could you try the development version to see if it does the same thing.

Re: Last bit of code being placed first

The Italians are terrible for mangling g-code in their controls. They do all sorts of odd stuff for no apparent reason.

Re: Last bit of code being placed first

The post only writes to the file when you get to the end of the line. For example in your case OnFinish() does not output an end of line so 'END' gets stuck in the buffer until you run the post again. Use post.Text ("END\n") instead. It is quite common to see this issue if your post throws an error....

Re: Add custom tool variables

The tool parameters are only available once the tool has been selected. They aren't available in OnInit() because at that point the post doesn't know what tools will be needed.
