Re: Sheetcam post for Hurco VM1

Go to Options->machine->post processor. They should be in the list of post processors.

Re: routing post prossesor?

The problem is that the post processor is requesting the tool offset for tool 100 but tool 100 is not defined in the linuxCNC tool table. The LinuxCNC tool tabel is independent of the SheetCam tool table. I just looked at the CandCNC post and it does not use tool offsets so you should not get this e...

Re: Sheetcam post for Hurco VM1

I don't think I have a post specifically for that machine. Try the 'Hurco Ultimax' or 'Fanuc' post processors.

Re: center pierce holes help?

The first time I tried this I thought I'd use a carbide stub drill to pilot the marked hole. The mark is still hard so I thought the carbide drill would last longer. It actually only lasted a couple of holes before chipping. Lesson learned! I use plain old HSS or cobalt now. Cheap and easy to re-sha...

Re: routing post prossesor?

I'd suggest using the 'LinuxCNC' post. CandCNC's post is set up for plasma and flame cutting. It is likely to do odd things if you use it for routing.

Re: A few basic questions re Mach3

Huh. That's different. About all I can think of is that it is applying the G92 before it has stopped moving from the G31. That of course should not happen. Edit your post (Options->machine->post processor->edit post). On line 238, just before this line: post.ModalText(" G92 Z0.0\n") enter this line:...

Re: Retract during Pocket

With pocketing it will lift to safe Z. The problem is that for pockets with islands it could need to rapid over those islands.

Re: A few basic questions re Mach3

If you see the Z zero before it hits the switch it could be noise on the switch input.
Do you have any Proma supplied macros installed in Mach? If I remember correctly they provide a probing macro that would conflict with this code.

Re: Set Part Order

Take a look at Options->job options->nesting. It gives you quite a bit of control.

Re: Leadin and Overcut Issues

Could you send me a job file demonstrating the tangent issue.
I should be able to fix the overcut override.

Re: Break up drawing resets all manually placed start points

Hmm, I'll look into that. It should keep the leadin positions.

Re: A few basic questions re Mach3

I got your email but I thought I'd reply here to help anyone else with similar questions. Start off with the 'Mach3 plasma' post. This a a very basic post and does not do the touch-off. Manually touch the torch to the top of the work and zero the Z axis before you start. Once you have it cutting wit...

Re: Negative lead out

Do you mean a negative overcut? A negative lead out doesn't really make sense and I don't think SheetCam has ever allowed that.

Re: center pierce holes help?

I just ran your job with that post and it appeared to work. One thing I noticed is that your 'centre punch' tool has a pierce delay of 0. If you have arc sensing this is fine but if you don't, the torch probably won't fire.

Re: center pierce holes help?

I can't see anything wrong with the job file. The center drilling looks correct. Could you let me have a copy of your post processor.
