Re: Rotary plasma how to change the X axis direction change to Y

Unfortunately it is pretty complicated to change the direction. I will take a look but I doubt if I'll be able to make this change quickly.

Re: Rules for THC On and THC Off

This is exactly what rules were designed to do. The only problem you seem to be seeing is that it turns the THC back on at the end of the cut. As I said it is easy enough to modify the post to turn it back off again.

Re: Code Problem?

SheetCam comes with a lot of post processors. You can find which one you are using by hovering your mouse over the 'run post processor' button or by going to Options->machine->post processor.

Just a thought - go to Options->job options and take a look at the rapid clearance. What is this set to?

Re: SheetCam For Vinyl Cutting Plotter?

If you tell me what HPGL commands are used for downforce I can modify a post to suit. As far as printing to the plotter is concerned, is the plotter on a serial port? If so SheetCam should be able to send code directly to it using the DNC tool (View->dnc tool).

Re: Code Problem?

What post processor are you using? If you look at the G-code do the Z positions look roughly right? If the code doesn't make sense to you, post a copy here on the forum and I'll take a look.

Re: Rotary plasma how to change the X axis direction change to Y

The rotary plugin currently only works along the X axis. It is however possible to modify a post to swap the X and Y axes. What post processor are you using?

Re: Rules for THC On and THC Off

I found one problem. In your 'On small shapes' rule you have your start code and end code both set to 'thc off'. This will output more THC off commands than you expect. Is the 'THC on' at the end of the cut a problem? This is enabling the THC ready for the next cut. If this is causing a problem for ...

Re: Rules for THC On and THC Off

Looking at your pdf it looks pretty straight forward to do that using a few rules.

Re: Rules for THC On and THC Off

And if you read this, what you will think about this software? That is an annoying bug but it is easily fixed in a post processor. Use: post.SetOptions(post.ARC_SEGMENTS) This will break circles into at least 2 arcs. Regarding the rules I can not describe exactly what the problem creates, just the ...

stivemaster please keep this polite. I won't tolerate attacks on members of this forum. I am able to predict the behavior of the machine - no machine can make a right angle of 90 degrees without slowing the speed before it and increasing it after it! Thus, the inertia of the process can be easily me...

Re: Scanything calibration

The UC100 has a parallel port style connector so as long as your computer has a parallel port it is pretty straight forward hardware wise. If you don't have a parallel port it gets a lot more difficult. USB parallel port adapters won't work. You can get PCI or PCIe parallel port boards but you need ...

Re: Any way to bring up a custom message box via post processor

what you want is: post.Error("Your Var is greater than 10, post processing aborted") This will print your error message in the post processor dialog and stop the post. If you want to warn that there could be a problem without aborting use post.Warning("You have been warned") Both of these will force...

Re: Rules for THC On and THC Off

Hello mr Newell, you know that such a CNC does not really exist Actually several can. For example LinuxCNC can and I believe Mach3 can also be made to do it with a small amount of external hardware. What I'm suggesting is very simple - the software analyzes the DXF shapes and defines the action poi...
