Re: Startup Screen

Tom, as I recall, there are several "table screens" that are displayed. One is the material size display, 1 is the table size, 1 is the machine size working envelope, or something along those lines. Anyway, go to your sheetcam options menu item, and go thru each Job, Machine, and Applicati...

Re: Import wrong demensions

Probably one of the 2 programs is set to metric, and the other to decimal.

Depends on what graphics program you are designing in, and what format you are converting from.

Re: Lead in and lead out with line cutting and tab holding.

Hi Dim, I personally have never used holding tabs on my plasma table. The torch never touches the material to drag it, so why would you need holding tabs? I suppose there are occasions where tabs might be needed, but I've never encountered any. Now I do use holding tabs when routing, but there the c...

Re: Toolset question

Another way to go might be to have say the first 100 tool numbers in the tool table dedicated to Hypertherm, then another range, say 500 to 600 dedicated to the other plasma cutter. I suppose one would want to preface the tool name with something to indicate which cutter that particular tool is for,...

Re: The end is nigh! (well sort of...)

Les, being a long time retired person, I would not begrudge you the experience of doing what you want when you want. So, good luck on your retirement (when you retire.) Just make sure you have something to do once you do retire, otherwise you won't last too long just sitting around. As far as the fi...

Re: Move Sheetcam setup to a new PC

Good morning Omamed
If you startup Sheetcam and go to the menu item File then under that choose the menu item Save Toolset As.., you can save your present toolset into a file. Then just import that file into Sheetcam on your new computer.

Re: Can't install SheetCam on Ubuntu

You could try going back to an older version of Sheetcam. I never could get Sheetcam 7.1.20 to run on Ubuntu 20.04, but Sheetcam 6.1.57 runs just fine.

Re: Machine not starting to cut but moving normaly

So, what machine do you have. What control system, what post are you using, maybe post the first part of your gcode to see if the start and touch off commands are there.

Re: Scanything calibration problem

Years ago I scratch built a CNC router table, using Mach3 and a USB Smoothstepper card. I used Scanything on this table, and it worked fine, once I got the camera orientated right. I've since taken that table apart and built a plasma table, which I haven't used Scanything on. So other than to acknow...

We are going to need more information. What kind of machine, what operations are you setting up, what post processor, etc.

Re: Will it work?

I had a quick read thru of the manual for your machine. It seems to say that there is a copy of Bob-CAD/Cam included with your table, and lists a post-processor that you download from Bob-Cad. CAD/CAM software combines the drawing and processing into one program. SheetCAM is a processing program, wh...

Re: Scanything candcnc mp3700 I've tried for months please help!

I seem to remember Sheetcam saying that you need to make downloaded Sheetcam/Linux files executable in order for them to run on Linux. "Scanything for Linux NOTE: this will currently only work out of the box with LinuxCNC V2.7.5 - v2.7.14. It is possible to work with other versions but you woul...

Re: Scanything candcnc mp3700 I've tried for months please help!

I'm going to assume you are trying to run this with the CandCNC version of Linux. This is a modified version of Linux, and Scanything may not run on it. Do not try to update your CandCNC version of Linux to anything else, as it will break your Plasma cutting. I've got Scanything, but have not tried ...

Re: Will it work?

Looking at the post-processor list in Sheetcam, I see 3 post-processors for Baileigh machines. So my guess is that it probably will. You can download and try Sheetcam before buying.
