Manually disable a path rule at specific location.

Hi Les, have been using path rules and came across a situation which requires manual intervention. It would actually be very similar to lead ins/outs where we use properties to manually adjust individual lead ins/outs. To cut a long story short, I needed to keep my THC turned off for some extra time...

Re: Path rules bug ???

Cheers Sean, I like your little tip about reducing the feedrate to 99.5% so it highlights everything. In the screenshot you supplied, notice that the path rule is being applied in many places where it should not be applied. It's supposed to only be applied to inside angles LESS than 30 degrees, yet ...

Path rules bug ???

Hi Les, I've put a path rule in my operation. It's an "on inside corners" path rule. I have it set for corners less than 30 degrees, and to insert a code snippet 15mm before the corner, and another code snippet 15mm after the corner. However, it's applying these rules at the very start of many leadi...

Re: g-codes won't load to mach3

Hi Ivan,

read my post again. It's the Sheetcam "job" file I asked for.

Anyway had a look at your .tap file and no gcode is being produced by the post processor. By looking at your job file I'll be able to see if there's anything obvious missing in the overall tooling, operation, etc setups.

Re: g-codes won't load to mach3

Ivan, have you read the Sheetcam user manual and watched some Youtube video tutorials on Sheetcam. Based on the fact you were trying to open gcode files with Sheetcam, that kind of says you are quite green with Sheetcam. I tried your Ballerina file in Sheetcam and no problems at all, so it seems lik...

Post processor - pierce height before touch off

Hi Les, I tried to work out what code in the post processor was doing this but couldn't figure it out. I'm getting a command to put the Z at pierce height immediately after the torch has done a rapid at Safe Z to the pierce position. After that it then does the touch off stuff. The problem is on lin...

Re: code not showing

OK, based on the information I have from you, all I can suggest is using the following post processor: Mach3 plasma no Z Your table appears to have two X axis motors, one Y axis motor, and you simple mount the torch on the Y axis plate, i.e. no up/down control. I generated gcode in Sheetcam using th...

Re: Can maximum arc length or line length be specified in SC

Les, that is fantastic.

Thank you very much, that is my Xmas present for this year.

I had a job with a lot of flameouts a couple of years ago. This new "power" will make life a lot easier and faster now.

Hope you have a great New Year.

Re: code not showing

Ah, not sure if a Windows Sheetcam install can open a Sheetcam job file created on a Mac. I wanted the Sheetcam job file so I could see what you had done (tool setup, completed operation, etc). If you had done everything correctly there then it should just be a matter of choosing a suitable post pro...

Re: Can maximum arc length or line length be specified in SC

Hi Les, I see you are back in action on the forum so I'm guessing my request (post before this one) has got "buried" by the later ones. No rush if you are chilling out for the holiday season. Whenever you are back at work in January is OK. I've tried drawing a long line as a series of shorter lines ...

Re: How to make line numbers start at zero.

Thanks Les,

the reason I'm doing this is so the gcode line numbers match the way my cnc controller reads them.

So it's a cnc plasma table. Does it have a floating head for the torch. Can you succesfully import an SVG file from Inkscape into Sheetcam. If so, send a Sheetcam job file here, showing the tool selected, completed operation, etc. I.E. a job file ready to generate the gcode (= run the post processor...

How to make line numbers start at zero.

I've modified my post processor to make line numbers increment by 1 instead of 10. However, the line numbers start at 10 instead of 0. I changed this: function OnNewLine() post.Text ("N") post.Number (lineNumber, "0000") lineNumber = lineNumber + 10 end to this: function OnNewLine() post.Text ("N") ...
