Plasma drilling missing some points

Post by ajfoxy »

When using the drilling operation in Plasma to mark where I want to drill holes in a flange I get the following. The torch fires on the first point then goes to the second point hovers, but does not fire then moves to the next point and fires. It seems to miss every second point.
I have noticed that the post flow is still running so perhaps that is interferring with the "second" firing? I'm not sure where to turn down the length of post flow after a cut.
CandCNC Bladerunner DTHC IV EtherCut
Hypertherm 45XP (with RS485 etc)
Latest Sheetcam.
Mach3, Windows 7

Any help would be most appreciated.
Kind regards

The air post flow is controlled by the plasma machine. It's to cool down the torch head, and as far as I know is not adjustable. But the post flow should have stopped when the fire signal was received on that 2nd pierce. I'd check the G-code to make sure the torch was told to fire on the 2nd pierce.

Try increasing your pierce delay. It sounds like your machine has a variable amount of delay before it fires the arc.
