Sheetcam bug or some other reason arcs won't cut cam or cut

Post by Davek0974 »

Wasted a lot of valuable time on this :(

I need to cut four arcs - open lines so no offsets or lead-ins etc.

The code tests perfect in Sheetcam simulation but when loaded into the plasma/mach3 it only cuts four very sort lines, maybe 3mm long?

I have attached the code file below but I am not upto reading I/J arcs yet.

Also the DXF file

Does this code cut long 120degree arc or short 5mm lines please??

Is there a reason I cannot CAM this job?
Thanks

This is a post processor problem. Tom knows about this and should be able to send you a replacement with the bug fixed.

Thanks les,

I have posted over there but its not the best place to get results in a hurry :(

Need to get job done by Monday evening.

I will also have to cut and paste the result as my post is heavily modified for my machine.

OK, l lied about the post. There is something very odd going on in SheetCam. If you look at the rapid paths they don't agree with the cut paths! I'm working on trying to figure out what is going on. In the mean time try starting a new job and just load that particular drawing.

Just found it - the overcut is causing a problem. If you set overcut to 0 it should work.

Thanks Les, that was the answer, no idea why but overcut turned off and job finished in time for tea ;)

I need to figure out what is going on there. Overcut shouldn't have done anything. Well, at least you got the job done.

Seems like it was cutting only the over-cut and not the job.

Very odd.
