G38.2 Move Finished Without Making Contact

Post by Mr. Fixit »

Hi,

I am trying to cut this part in CommandCNC and keep getting this error on the first move. Prior to the attempt, I have moved the torch to the desired start point, zeroed the X & Y, did a Z Home and Z zero and then tried to cut. I have tried this with the torch turned off too and no difference. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

It sure did help. All I changed was the plunge safety clearance setting in Sheetcam. It had .0197 in that field and I changed it to .5 as suggested by Tom in his write up. I don't understand why it was working previously and all of a sudden new issues.

Thank you very much for the assistance, the part came out perfectly.

I am having huge issues with the PC/software, but I will leave that for another post shortly..
