Help PC crashed, now replaced, same disk, no sheetcam, Linux

Post by AdrianH »

Hello, hope someone can help?

Running 6.1.6 64 bit linux install on opensuse13.2. All going well until my
motherboard failed. Picked up another very similar PC and could literally
just place the old hard drive in the new machine and boot up with only a
change to the network card settings.

My version of Sheetcam is licensed, but as soon as I run it I get an internal
error and the program exits.

Now I am guessing that this may be because my computer name has changed and
this may be saved somewhere with the licence information, but how do I
check/reset this theory.

I have downloaded the install file and run it all OK just in case the install
had corrupted but still the same error. Any clues as to what I need to do to
get this running back on my 64 bit machine?

Adrian

p.s. sorry I sent this to a general email to sheetcam@yahoogroups.com and that is probably not the best.

I have tried re-installing various other linux packages such as Lua and anything that has Chunk., no joy.

As a last resort I have just run the de install script, the removed all directories, reboot and then install fresh.

on first run it asked for language selected system it asks to agree license the crashed with

"We are very sorry but SheetCamTNG-dev has encountered an internal error. It would be very helpful if you could send a debug report so we can try to find out what went wrong"

I tried to send in a crash log, but the message is creation failed.

Please help.

I am guessing it is a graphics issue. Do your two computers have separate graphics cards? If so, try swapping them.

No the graphics are in built on the Motherboards.

Its a Dell Optiplex760 Duel core PC the specs say
Integrated Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500.

Not much of a wiz on computers so I will have a play checking drivers.
