You can’t delete the last shape except by adding another Les, which is a bit of a problem J And unless you move the shape you can’t add another (it doesn’t overwrite the existing shape with another one which you could then move). Except if you click nesting the shape then disappears……

Subject: [sheetcam] TNG development V6.1.12 released

Hi all,

I have just uploaded SheetCam TNG development to www.sheetcam.com. This
release has the following changes:

Added: Added lots of new icons
Changed: Can now select large, medium, small or classic icon set
Added: Shape cutting plugin. This will automatically generate drawings
from a library of shapes.
Fixed: Occasionally not generating tool paths for open paths
Fixed: Very occasional random crash
Added: Load and save buttons in path rules
Changed: Vertical toolbars now automatically scroll if there isn't
enough room for the buttons

This is the beginning of a facelift for SheetCam. By default it uses the
original icons but if you right-click on any toolbar you can select from
four different icon styles. WARNING the medium and large icon sets
produce some pretty large toolbars. Before you test these, drag your
toolbars so you have two rows aligned to the left. If you don't do this
you will end up with some of the toolbars hidden because they will be
off the right hand side of the screen. I need to work out a fix for this.

For those who wanted save and load buttons, you now have them in the new
icon sets.

Another addition is a shape library. This will become an extra cost
option but it allows you to produce simple parts such as pipe flanges or
gussets by simply entering the dimensions. Switch to shape mode
(Mode->shape) and click on the 'new shape' button. Select the shape you
want (currently there are only 3) and click ok. Drop the generated part
on your sheet. The generated drawing will update as you change the
dimensions. You can place as many shapes as you want on your sheet. You
can also edit previously placed shapes by simply clicking on them.

Any suggestions for extra shapes will be welcomed.

Les

Hi Tony,

Thanks for testing the shape plugin. The shape is being deleted but the graphics aren't being updated correctly. I'll fix that in the next release. I'll also add a few geometric shapes such as circles, rectangles and triangles.
Not sure it’s a shape really but a simple groove would be good. One that you can dimension so say 11mm wide by 39mm long (to depth as well of course) . Then you would just load a 11mm tool to cut it. Or if its really wide say 50mm you could just use a 10mm cutter and make 5 passes till depth is reached.….Does that make sense?

You will be able to do that with a rectangle. Tool selection, cut depth etc is still done with cutting operations, just like any other drawing.
