Using SC on a router and a plasma cutter?

Post by Leeway »

I would like to use SC that I have been using for both a mill and a router on a plasma cutter now.
Are there different profiles for Sheetcam?

In other words, the way I used it on the mill and router were similar.
Will setting up SC for a plasma lose the setting for the mill?

I always use an old job on both the mill and router when I update to new parts.
Would that method work the same in plasma?
If so, then I really have no other questions yet. 8)

There are two methods of doing this. The first method works with both the stable and development versions. Go to c:\program files\SheetCam TNG and make a copy of SheetCam TNG.exe. Give it a sensible name. Now make a shortcut to it. When you run the shortcut it will start with completely separate settings. You will need to install your license on this copy. If you are running a 64 bit version of Windows you need to look in c:\program files(x86)\SheetCam TNG.

This method only works with the development version of SheetCam:
Make a copy of the SheetCam shortcut and rename it to something that identifies the new configuration. Right click on the shortcut and select 'properties'. In the 'target' box you should have something like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\SheetCam TNG Development\SheetCam TNG Development.exe"
Change it to:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\SheetCam TNG Development\SheetCam TNG Development.exe" /c AnotherMachine

This shortcut will start SheetCam with a profile called 'AnotherMachine'
