I now use QCAD. I have used draftsight and AutoCAD with equal results.

Maybe I missed the problem. What is not right when brought into SheetCam?

OK - Thanks for both files. I'm guessing you may be using Windows when saving as DXF? Just a guess. I get the same results when I use Windows. I use Linux normally and don't get this - Or very rarely. Even with Linux, the four approx 6.85mm circles are not complete. Also shows this in the svg. It sh...

I downloaded the dxf file. It appears to be a gcode file, though. In my experience, SheetCam has settings to *help* correct less-than-perfect dxf drawings. I suppose some settings could be changed far enough from reasonable to cause problems, but I don't know that for sure. What program are you usin...

This is what I did with that error: In a terminal, run "sudo apt-get install winetricks". After that installs, run "winetricks". Select the default wineprefix. Select "Install a Windows DLL or component". Look for the package "vcrun2008" and select OK. That sh...

Try running SheetCam from a terminal. Something similar to: wine /home/[YOUR_LOGIN_NAME]/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Program\ Files/SheetCam\ TNG\ Development/SheetCam\ TNG\ Development.exe Modify that for your setup (not sure if you installed the development version or not). The terminal may show what the ...

I run Windows SheetCAM on Ubuntu 14.04 (and also tried on Debian, too) using Wine. Other than a little display delay, I think SheetCam works for the most part. SheetCam does die when I try to change printing properties as the preview is not right, but it does print correctly so all is good. LinuxCNC...

After you have the two operations entered and have your tabs placed on the roughing pass operation, left mouse-click on the finish pass operation and then right-click on the drawing. A sub menu should pop up - Look for "Copy tabs from" and select the roughing pass operation. That will copy...

That will be nice. For now, I just look at the tool list in the left-hand column to quickly see which one I have running.

I start each "machine" in it's own environment as such: SheetCam TNG Development.exe -c plasma or SheetCam TNG Development.exe -c router That starts/opens a subdirectory of it's own which holds tools, configs, etc. I have to know which machine I need when starting Sheetcam, but that hasn't...

Yes - I almost always manually place my tabs. I make sure the milling operation that would be affected by the tabs is selected and then select Mode/Edit tabs. Then I take the mouse and click on the places I want tabs. It's been awhile since I've used them, but you might need to look for error messag...

I have this a time or two. What I have done was to open the SVG in Inkscape, select the object and go to Object, Ungroup (or <Shift-Ctrl-G>. After that, click the mouse anywhere on a blank area (or De-Select) and then click again on the object and drag. If there is a duplicate, I delete one. HTH Paul

Hi Bob, If you just want one on at the beginning and off at the end, I would look in your post processor first for the section: "function OnInit()" and in there, probably near the end of this section, I would add a line: post.Text (" M8 (Coolant on)\n") and then look for the sect...

If you start the drawings (if you draw them) with the idea of always putting the perimeter cut on it's own layer and possibly using SheetCAM's job templates to help setup the operations. I don't know if that would help make up the time...

Could you keep your perimeter cut on it's own drawing layer and on it's own operation?
