New Parts
I've installed sheet cam on my new PC and it seems to act a little different. When I try and bring in a "new Part" it doesn't give me a window to look for a drawing file. Instead it only makes a new part Icon in the parts window. Then I have to go to import drawing to get it. I've been awa...

Rotary Plasma Swapped Axis posting mirrored gcode
Thanks so much for the reply. It's hard to find someone to bounce ideas and questions off of. The other fellow that commented on you post yesterday... Sean, he's a good guy in Ireland and we've been swapping e-mails for a good while. Make note of him.... Anyway, I may just start the project for my p...

I've got to say, you've got it going. It doesn't come easy by any means. You must have a good understanding of what's happening to pull off that type of project. Thank you for posting the progress / information and the photos...! It's been in the back of my mind to build and install a rotary axis to...

I halfway follow what you're saying, but I'll probably create more problems than what I'm trying to solve... I believe I'll leave things as they are. My machine wasn't near as bad as yours for some reason on the delay for the first pierce. It doesn't cause me any problems thank goodness... I'll keep...

You'll have to go back to a CAD program as suggested earlier. The learning curve to learn a 2d CAD program isn't any harder than a art and drawing program. Go to here and download Draftsight 2d. It's a FREE and fully functional CAD program that looks and Feels like AutoCAD from Autodesk. I believe i...

If you're not using 100% of the metal, just have it pierce just outside the part in a dead area.. Or a scrap piece as you mentioned.... Wow, that's a simple solution... Years ago I was using M-codes to turn on / off my torch with relays and there was a delay because of that... All the pierce times I...

I'm not a know it all by any means but usually as with everything, it's more complicated than we believe. It's not just one thing. Mach moves motors and puts torch in place send info to the Hypertherm unit, it takes time to send the info that the arc is established and OK to move more time for mach ...

I've had two completely different plasma systems with the same power unit. Hypertherm 1650. Rutex was the first THC I used that was totally automatic. I did not have any control over the pierce other than delay. Sheet cam post was modified so that the first pierce would subtract time and the others ...
